K.T. Mormino
Katherine Darling Titus (1905-1983), known after her marriage to Frank Mormino (1962) as Kay Titus Mormino, was an American editor and poet, the haiku editor of The Nutmegger, editor of its Haiku Anthology in 1968, and the founder of Modern Haiku in 1969. She relinquished editorship of the journal to Robert Speiss in 1978. Modern Haiku remains the longest-running haiku magazine outside of Japan.
Kay Mormino writes to Virgilio in these letters informing him of her intention to establish Modern Haiku, seeking his assistance, and also gives him advice on best submission practices.
